about

New York Post-Punk meets Modern Disco aesthetic in Gold Casio’s energized new single, Revolver. The group is back to bring together the dance-sensibility of DFA Records artists like Holy Ghost! and Yacht, the wall-of-sound production of Cut Copy, the vocal swagger of The Horrors, and the modern sheen of L'Impératrice, to deliver up a true Indie-dance banger. Pulsing New Order-Inspired rhythmic synthesizers, and disco percussion grooves create the backdrop to rolling bass, biting pads, and angular guitars, as the track’s energy builds to a dance-floor fever pitch. The dual vocals of Ela Ra and Saint Siris pack a power-pop punch as they blast through the infectious melodies of the song’s vibrant yet melancholic chorus. As much at home in sweaty Brooklyn-basement clubs as in backyard summer dance parties this addictive track is sure to keep bringing you back for more.

lyrics

Now’s the time to burn it down
Like a sunset at the break of dawn
Darling can you show me how
To get back where I started from?

I don’t wanna bring you down
Down, Down
Like a sun sets on the horizon
Darling, can you show me how
Everything spins round and round?

Got my revolver spinning
Turning dark to light
I don’t know where to begin
But can I see you tonight?

Yeah I know its a sin
It’s just me, where do I begin?
I’m gonna go down cuz I got to high
To clean my act up, no wonders why
Draw a line down in the sand
Standing here with a gun in my hand
But that’s okay cuz at least I tried
To clean my act up before I died

Now’s the time to burn it down
Like a sunset at the break of dawn
Darling can you show me how
To get back where I started from?

I don’t wanna bring you down
Like a sun sets on the horizon
Darling can you show me how
Everything spins round and round?

Yeah I know, its a sin
It’s just me, where do I begin?
I’m gonna go down cuz I got to high
To clean my act up, no wonders why
Draw a line down in the sand
Standing here with a gun in my hand
But that’s okay cuz at least I tried
To clean my act up before I died

Got my revolver spinning
Turning dark to light
I don’t know where to begin
But can I see you tonight?

Yeah I know its a sin
It’s just me, where do I begin?
I’m gonna go down cuz I got to high
To clean my act up, no wonders why
Draw a line down in the sand
Standing here with a gun in my hand
But that’s okay cuz at least I tried
To clean my act up before I died

Now’s the time to burn it down

Now’s the time to burn it down
